Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna, 70, passed away last night. The actor-turned-politician has worked in more than 140 movies in a career spanning over four decades. The veteran actor has been unwell over the past few weeks and was admitted to a hospital in the first week of April.
Talking to the media, elder son Rahul Khanna revealed that the senior actor was hospitalised owing to ‘severe dehydration’. However, a photograph of the actor from the hospital sparked rumours of the actor suffering from bladder cancer. The actor passed away today morning owing to his long-term illness.
The official statement issued by the hospital reads:
"Veteran actor and Member of Parliament Mr. Vinod Khanna, who was admitted to the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital breathed his last at 11.20 am due to advanced bladder carcinoma."Vinod Khanna, who is a sitting MP from Gurdaspur was last seen on the silver screen in Shah Rukh Khan’s 'Dilwale'. The veteran actor is survived by two sons, Rahul Khanna and Akshaye Khanna with his first wife and a son, Sakshi and daughter, Shraddha, with his current wife, Kavita.
