Sakshma Srivastav | Feb 21, 2017, 18:44 ISTVoting began early morning today for Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Elections 2017 in Mumbai and like many other Bollywood celebrities, Varun Dhawan too stepped out to cast his vote. The actor arrived at the polling station along with his brother Rohit Dhawan and mother Karuna.
After beaming and posing for the paparazzi, Varun entered the polling booth, only to be disappointed. While both Karuna and Rohit cast their votes, Varun was unable to exercise his right as the officials could not find his name on the voter’s list. Apparently, the officials spent some time searching for Varun’s name on the list but unfortunately for him, they couldn’t find it.
When quizzed about this the ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’actor said, “My name has not shown up in the list. It’s bizarre because I voted last year. Will find out from EC about this.” Well, Twitteratis trolled the actor saying the elections held ‘last year’ were that of Rajya Sabha. The last time Lok Sabha elections were held was in 2014.
Correcting himself Varun tweeted:
