Not a day goes by without some sort of weird news making the headlines in this city. On Monday, two men who were dressed up in terrorist attires complete with army fatigues, multi-utility vests and Gabbaresque cartridge belts across their chest were spotted in Vasai. This, of course, led to mass panic during which the police was informed about them and which further led to a one-hour chase. In fact, the operation to capture them was on such a massive scale that it panned seven police stations, involved a red alert and a security directive to the Coast Guard.
Now, this may sound like something terrifying and out of the movies but it was in fact just a huge misunderstanding. CCTV cameras aided the police in the capture of the 'terrorists' and it was found that they were actually actors who were dressed up for their roles in a Yashraj movie set. The film being shot also stars Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff whereas these two men were just extras.
The individuals identified themselves as Balram Ginwala, 23, and Arbaaz Khan, 20. Post all the drama that unfolded, the production house even submitted all papers and permissions to the police and confirmed that the two men were just extras on the set. All they'd done was step out to buy cigarettes and they got mistaken as terrorists due to their attire. Despite everything being cleared up with the police, the two actors have been booked under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code for creating panic and disrupting peace amongst citizens. Well, if this isn't the weirdest thing you've read today we don't know what is.
Tiger and Hrithik's film also stars Vaani Kapoor in a prominent role and is being helmed by Siddharth Anand. Stay tuned for more updates.
