Shahid Kapoor to play a young local boy in 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu'
Reportedly, in Shree Narayan's 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu', Shahid will be portraying the role of a 20-something-year-old young boy
Alisha Alam | Feb 1, 2018, 13:05 ISTAfter essaying the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmaavat', Shahid Kapoor is all set to have yet another extreme makeover. Reportedly, in Shree Narayan's 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu', Shahid will be portraying the role of a 20-something-year-old young boy. “Shahid plays a young local boy from Uttarakhand who is a diehard romantic,” producer Prerna Arora said. “The costume designer duo has been working with artisans in villages of the North Indian state and sourcing fabrics locally to ensure authenticity. Shahid will be wearing lots of bright sweaters and jackets since the story unfolds in winter,” she added.
Speaking about Shraddha's bubbly character in the film, Prerna added, “She’s a bubbly girl and quite notorious in the first half of the film. Post interval, her character undergoes a transformation and with her behaviour her look will also change,” Talking about working with Shahid, she said, “On Wednesday night, we had a reading session with chai, dinner and lots of laughter. Shahid is a terrific actor and has been spending hours every day getting each line and punctuation in his dialogue sheet right. Along with Shree, Siddharth and Garima, he has been adding his own humour to the character and constantly improvising. He’s mastered the local dialect after undergoing training since the beginning of the year.” Well, this certainly looks like a film to look forward to. Stay tuned for more updates.
