Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut's much-talked about debate on nepotism was indeed a fiery affair. Unkind words were said from both sides, opinions from contemporaries were shared and confessions were made. Who knew that Kangana’s appearance on the famous chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’ would spark a wave that would lead to the advent of one of the most controversial debates Bollywood has ever had.
Recently, Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, who is what they call an ‘outsider’ in the industry, opened up about the issue. While her earlier tweet about the issue made her face some flak, she latter clarified her stance.
“For me, it was more like I had realised that nepotism exists very strongly, and it’s one of the rules of the industry. It was to say that I’m not going to revolt against it but will work around it, and it has become a rule of the game for me, too. I meant that now I’d have to take it as a given and try not to get shocked about it or try to pretend that it doesn’t exist,” said Taapsee. She further added, “It’s not that people were oblivious to its existence. It’s just that someone eventually spoke about [nepotism] and everyone joined the debate. Among those were many who had been holding back for a long time and wanted to vent.”
On the work front, Taapsee’s ‘Judwaa 2’ alongside Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez has reached it’s last schedule of filming and will hit the theatres on 29
th September.
