Trouble seems to be unending for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, 'Padmavati'. After Sanjay Leela Bhansali was attacked and the sets were vandalised a few months back on the sets of 'Padmavati' in Jaipur. And now according to reports, the film set in Kolhapur were set on fire. The film’s sets were attacked at 10.30 pm on Tuesday and while no crew member was present, the animals were present on the sets and got injured in the fire.
Around 40-50 people armed with petrol bombs, stones and lathis reached the sets of the film in the night and allegedly fought off the security who were present at the sets. In the light of the acts of vandalism that took place during the Jaipur schedule, the security was beefed on the sets. However, not only did the protestors burn down the set, they also damaged the cars parked around the sets.
Confirming the news to Pinkvilla, Shobha Sant, CEO Bhansali Productions said, “A few people entered and had put the set on fire in the early morning hours. The main cast wasn’t present at that time. However, our costumes are completely damaged.” Shobha further revealed that investigation is on and an official complaint will be filed soon.
