Jacqueline Fernandez has decided to give up on dairy products and sugar for Lent. Lent is a 40 days long period observed before Easter, excluding Sundays. It begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Wednesday, which is the day before Easter Sunday.
Those who observe Lent, have to give up on something they like and Jacqueline, therefore, decided to give up on the two things she relishes the most, sugar and dairy products, starting from March 1. The Sri Lankan beauty feels that along with praying and seeking blessings, Lent also makes one grow through self-examination.

Talking about it she said, I believe Lent is a time to pray and seek blessings. It teaches you to give up what you cherish the most, to be able to grow as a person. I feel, rather than giving up on something, it is important to practise the values weaved into us and make sure we follow it to the tee, as it is a season for self-examination and to become more mindful, more penitent and more reflective. Every year I give up on something and this year, it’s the indulgent things like sweets and dairy.”
On the work front, Jacqueline is currently shooting for her upcoming film ‘Drive’ alongside Sushant Singh Rajput. Produced by Dharma Productions, the film is slated to release in the latter half of 2017.
