It's no secret that Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer 'WAR' is claiming to be one of the biggest action films ever made in India and the makers of the film are doing their best to leave no stone unturned. In the film, Hrithik and Tiger will be seen waging war against each other and the makers have ensured to turn the film into a never-seen-before spectacle.
YRF has roped in one of the biggest action directors from Hollywood, Paul Jennings to help designs some amazing action sequences that the audience is bound to love. Paul is known for his work in hit Hollywood films like 'The Dark Knight' starring Christian Bale, 'San Andreas' starring Dwayne Johnson, 'Jack Reacher' starring Tom Cruise, 'Sherlock Holmes' starring Robert Downey Jr, among others. 'WAR' is Paul's first Bollywood film and he's also announced that the action sequences in the film are at par with films like 'Mission Impossible' and 'Fast and Furious’.
“What I love about Bollywood is I believe you can push the action a little bit further. You can do things which push the boundaries of believability right to the edge and it means you can end up with more spectacular sequences. On Bollywood movies you can sometimes be limited by budget but on 'WAR' Adi (Aditya Chopra) just wanted to make the best action sequences he could so we had a great budget and were able to do anything we liked,” reveals Paul.
“So, I would say there is no difference between the action sequences on 'WAR' and a Hollywood movie except that we pushed the boundaries a little further which only enhances them. There is no difference between the sequences in 'WAR' and let’s say 'Mission Impossible' or 'Fast and Furious!'” Paul boldly says.
'WAR' brings together two of the biggest action superstars of our country, Hrithik and Tiger. Paul reveals his incredible work experience with them. “They are both truly dedicated actors who work hard every day at their craft of acting which embraces everything from not just their performance but physical training, fighting, dancing, diet etc. So much can be learned from them and how they have managed to stay so humble and human amongst all the attention they receive is quite astounding,” he says.
Paul adds, “We would block out fight sequences as best we could during rehearsal then show the choreography to Hrithik and Tiger who would then inject their character points and show us their particular 'special action moves' which we would always try and include. They bring so much talent to the table it was an absolute pleasure to have all the tools that they both have as fighters into the equation. It is because of them and all their input that we were able to take the fights in 'WAR' to a whole new level!”
Produced by Yash Raj Films, 'WAR' also stars Vaani Kapoor opposite Hrithik Roshan and is set to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on the big National Holiday of Gandhi Jayanti, October 2nd.
