Diana Penty who last seen in ‘Lucknow Central’, the film was based on true story, she had started her career with commercial film ‘Cocktail’ and then she went on to do ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ as certainly changed her genre, she feels that it’s much easier to work as it involves homework and research while prepping for the film and it becomes clear about the character in the film as well.
Talking about shifting genre Diana said, “They all have a sense of maturity in their direction because the subject needs to be dealt with sensitivity and you can’t tamper with the facts. So, they are very clear about what they want from the film and every character. So, in a way, when you get direction like that, it’s much easier to perform too.”
When asked if the actress would like to do a biopic she said, “Oh, it would be amazing to do a biopic and I have a feeling it would be extremely tough to do one. But then again, I love to challenge myself as an actor and would love to play someone else on-screen. Let’s see what comes my way.”
The actress further said, “I haven’t really singled out one particular person. There are so many accomplished people in so many different fields. I have been inspired by so many different people. There musicians, sports people, politicians and it would be unfair to pick any one name.”
Diana concluded by saying, “I need to read the person’s story to figure out if I can do justice to the film or not. Also, as an actor, it’s not like you can randomly pick one name and want to act on their biopic. You need to imbibe the character, own it and be able to absolutely bring their journey on screen.”
Diana Penty will be next seen in ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’ along with John Abraham. The film will be based on a true story on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran in 1998.
