Sanjai Mishra is a fantastic actor who has portrayed different kinds of role in every film he does. He always surprises the audience with his comic timing and acting, the actor feels that the biggest award is that people recognize by his character and not his name. He stated that the work will speak one should just keep working.
Sanjai Mishra said, “I am known by the characters I play on the screen, and never by my own name. This, I feel, is the biggest award. People always call me underrated. That’s good for me. Agar overrated hota, toh overdated hota. Hamesha kaam karte raho, dheere-dheere aapka kaam bolega (I would have got outdated if I had been overrated. Keep working, and eventually your work will speak for you).”
When asked if the facts bother him that people recognize him more for his comedy and not for his power-packed performances, the actor said, “I do think about it sometimes. For example, there is singer Anup Jalota, who people know only for his bhajans. Meri doosri audience bhi hai, jo mujhe alag tareeke se dekhti hai (There’s a section of the audience that looks at me in a different way). But I never feel bad that people know me only for my comedy roles — at least they know me!”
The actor further added, “Par dukh hota hai when someone typecasts me as a comedian. Actor ko actor hi rehne do. Na hi mujhe action star banna hai, na hi comedy star. Main har tarah ki film karna chahta hoon (Let actors remain actors. I neither want to become an action hero nor a comedian).”
Sanjai Mishra will be seen next in ‘Total Dhamaal’, which also stars Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, and Ajay Devgn.
