Deepika Padukone, whose international debut film, 'xXx: The Return of Xander Cage' has become the highest grossing film of the year, at a recent event in Mumbai, denied the reports of her Oscar appearance. Despite her vehement denial Deepika was seen dazzling at various pre-Oscars parties. While Deepika will not be attending the awards ceremony, Priyanka Chopra, who is gearing up for the release of 'Baywatch' confirmed her Oscar appearance.
Considering that both the actresses have done so well in India, and are now eyeing the West, the comparisons between the two are inevitable. Deepika in an interview with a leading daily, however, confessed that she finds the constant comparison between Priyanka and herself rather bizzare.
The 'Padmavati' actress said, "At a personal level, I know Priyanka very well for any sort of comparisons. It feels weird on being compared to her because our worlds are totally distinct. What she wants to achieve and what she is working towards is different from what I am doing. Her demands and requirements are completely different from mine. These comparisons are so bizarre.”
The leggy actress further added, "I can still understand comparisons with Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma or Sonakshi Sinha or someone who entered the industry at the same time as I did, but I can’t seem to wrap my head around comparisons with Priyanka.”
Deepika Padukone is currently busy with the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati', along with Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.
