Varun Dhawan, who is currently busy with promotions of his upcoming film, 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania', in a recent interview with Filmfare opened up about his Bollywood career and being compared with Salman Khan. When asked if being compared with Salman Khan makes him feel flattered, the actor said, "Honestly, I don’t dwell on it. In fact, this perception came into being when I started off my career. Whatever said, I still have to work hard, I still have to put in efforts. People can say a lot of things but deep down inside you know what’s true and what’s not. You should not lose focus."
The actor also admitted that he does not feel that he has become a superstar yet. When prodded further, the actor said that he hope that he is on a path to become one. The actor said, "I really hope so. Yes, it’s a difficult ballgame. Your personal life takes a beating. In the last two years, so many of my friends got married but I wasn’t able to attend their weddings. Tonight, is a close friend’s sangeet but I won’t be able to make it. I miss these things. But once I’m in front of the camera, it’s bliss. There’s nothing better."
When asked if it is difficult to carve a niche for oneself amidst the superstars, Varun asserted, "It’s tough! Probably when they came in, they must’ve thought the same thing seeing Amitabh Bachchan and other stars."
