2016 saw some of the best work from the Hindi cinema! While Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao starrer 'Aligarh' highlighted the cause of homosexuality, Sonam Kapoor in 'Neerja' left us in tears for her portray of the brave Neerja Bhanot. While Alia Bhatt got noticed for her never-seen-before avatar in 'Udta Punjab', Aamir Khan broke his own record and entered the 350 crores club with his film 'Dangal'.
With 'Dangal' becoming the highest grosser of all time, it wouldn't be wrong to say that 2016 was Aamir's year. The film not only received appreciation in abundance but is also a favourite at the awards galore. At the recently held 62nd Jio Filmfare Awards, 'Dangal' managed to bag the biggest awards of the night.
Aamir Khan won the Best Actor Award, whereas director Nitesh Tiwari won in the Best Director category. The film, all by merit, also won the most prestigious Best Film award. Shyam Kaushal bagged an award for the Best Action in 'Dangal'. However, the film has had a headstart in the awards season as it still continues to rule the box-office.
Like we said, this is the best time to celebrate Bollywood!
