While Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra made their debut together with 'Ishaqzaade' in 2012, the much-loved pair has not shared screen space since then. However, after the reports that the duo would be coming together for Yash Raj Films’ Dibakar Banerjee directorial 'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar', Arjun and Parineeti have signed another film, ‘Namastey Canada’.
Though the title is very reminiscent of Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Namastey London’, director Vipul Amrutlal Shah clarified that it is not the case. Vipul Shah, who will be directing the film said that 'Namastey Canada' is not a sequel to the successful romantic drama.
Recently there were reports claimed that Akshay refused to give the naming rights for the film, owing to which, Shah had to rename the movie. However, clarifying his stand, Vipul said, "I want to set the record straight. 'Namastey Canada' is not a sequel to 'Namastey London'. I thank Akshay for standing by me and being graceful about sharing the title with me. I'm also happy that Arjun and Parineeti agreed to join me on this journey. I hope this film becomes one of their best outings together."
Talking about coming on board for the project Arjun said, "I'm excited to be a part of this project. After working with giants like Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar, he has chosen me. 'Namastey Canada' has heart and humour, making it a family entertainer."
Echoing Arjun's excitement Parineeti added, "This is exactly the film I was looking for! It's a desi story with a videshi heart. I'm excited to be directed by Vipul sir with who I have shared an amazing friendship over the last few years."
Helmed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, 'Namastey Canada' is set to go on floors soon.
