While online shopping and food delivery apps have made things extremely convenient and easy for everyday body, it may just given birth to a greater evil – our lack of will power. Let’s face it, the urge to go on your favourite shopping site or ordering from your favourite food is too damn high. And we wouldn’t blame you. These shopping sites and delivery apps are designed to make things too easy for you. All you have to do is press a few buttons to pick what you want and it comes right at your doorstep in a matter of hours to a day. It’s the lazy person’s heaven! Only, we’re all trapped in it.
Thankfully, a company seems to realised our perils in pleasures and invented an electric belt that delivers a 350 volt shock each time you decide to splurge on junk food or shop for something you don’t need. It goes by the name, ‘Pavlov’, a not to the Russian psychologist who famously came up with the ‘classical conditioning’ theory. However, this electric bracelet seems to work on the basis of ‘operant theory’ which basically associates rewards and punishments with different actions, to help learn favourable behavior. For example, when a parent grounds their child for being disobedient at school, they learn that, their behaviour wasn’t ideal and hence don’t repeat it again.
But aside from junk food and unnecessary shopping, this bracelet could be used to get rid of any activity you’re not a huge fan of. Having trouble saving money? Smoking too many cigarettes? You name it and they know.
Now let’s come to the specs. With a single charge, the bracelet can comfortably give you 150 shocks, which is great (we’re assuming you’re not a hoarder!) The bracelet connects to app on your smart phone, which can also be used by your friends or family if they want to keep a track on you!
The bracelet can be easily found on Amazon USA, at a hefty price tag of $200! But considering all the saving you might make, we’re thinking it it’s a tad good deal. What do you think about it?
