As much as we love our mascara and false lashes we cannot spend an entire lifetime using them. Overuse of makeup products on your lashes can damage them and might even cause them to fall out. Alternatively, the glue from fake lashes isn't all that great for your lashes either. So, what should you do if you want long and beautiful lashes without causing any harm to them? Go au naturel of course! Just make sure to keep your lashes clean and then you can opt for some home remedies to give them strength and volume so that you end up with long lashes naturally. Here are some tips that will help you.
02/8Use some castor oil
Take 1 teaspoon of cold-pressed castor oil and cotton swabs. Start by cleansing your eyelashes using a mild cleanser and water. Then pat them dry and using the cotton swabs, apply the castor oil to your upper and lower lashes.
03/8Coconut oil
Coconut oil works wonders in moisturising your lashes. Just apply some to your upper and lower lashes using a cotton swab and leave the oil on overnight. Wash it off the next day and you'll see the difference in just a few days.
04/8Vitamin E
Apart from applying oils and other concoctions to your lashes, make sure that you also take some Vitamin E supplements as they can help improve hair growth. Just ensure that you consult your doctor about how much you're supposed to consume per day.
05/8Apply green tea to your lashes
Just brew some green tea in a pot and then strain it and let it cool. Once it cools down, dip a cotton swab in the drained concoction and apply the tea to your upper and lower eyelashes. Green tea is rich in minerals that promote hair growth so you should see results in no time. However, ensure that it doesn't get into your eyes or it could sting.
06/8Clean your lashes regularly
We know you think your lashes don't need cleaning but trust us when we say they do. Ensure that you clean your lashes regularly using a mild cleanser or shampoo so that they stay clear of product build-up, dust and grime.
07/8Apply essential oils
Essential oils contain multiple hydrating and moisturising properties and ingredients that can work wonders to promote hair growth. So, opt for the essential oil of your choice, dilute it with water and then apply it to your lashes. Leave it on overnight and wash your lashes in the morning.
08/8Use petroleum jelly
Petroleum jelly has amazing moisturising properties. Apply some petroleum jelly on your eyelids and your eyelashes so that your eyelashes stay moisturised which will promote hair growth. The jelly also prevents eyelash mites from feasting on your lashes.
