According to recent study males who are moderate drinkers have more fertile seed than their more conservatively consuming counterparts. The study was published in Andrology and was conducted at Italian fertility clinic, Fondazione IRCCS Ca’ Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, in Milan. A unit of alcohol is equivalent to 125 ml (4 oz) of wine, 330 ml (11.2 oz) of beer, or 30 ml (1 oz) of liquor.
Dr. Elena Ricci said, “Men at the clinic are “counseled to limit but not avoid alcohol. Of course, this doesn’t mean the more men drink, the more fertile they’ll become. Another study in 2014 found drinking two pints a day reduces sperm count by a third, and that even modest alcohol consumption can reduce sperm quality.”
Dr. Elena Ricci added, "As regards low intake, our findings are consistent with other research. In Italy, alcohol consumption is common but usually limited to small quantities, and this applies in particular to men referring to our Infertility Clinic. Since the dose makes the poison, they are counselled to limit but not avoid alcohol.”
