All of us have a type when it comes to a person we'd want to be with. For girls, some would want a tall, dark, handsome guy, while some would want a cute face, understanding, matured guy. For guys, some would want hot, party-goer and an extrovert chic, while some would want a simple, subtle natured, ambivert chic. And because you have a certain type stuck in your mind, you tend to get attracted toward the person who possesses majority of the qualities you wish for. Although not everyone's lucky enough to end up for a lifetime with just that person. This is why, you should be dating someone who's not your type. Someone who's maybe extremely different from you or someone who doesn't check any of the boxes for you type. Here are a few reasons why you should totally date out of your type:
- They'll change your perspective: Since you're too restricted to the set of qualities you'd want in another person, this one might just give you the best time of your life with none of the things you were looking forward to. There's a reason why your previous relationships didn't work even when you'd chosen the person based on your type. There's always room for surprises, right? You might just realise that you're having even more fun with this person and that's all that you need.
- It will make you flexible: Of course, you have a type because you like doing certain things and dislike some of them. And you'd want someone who can relate to your thoughts on why you like and dislike those things. You'd also want them to enjoy the similar kind of things that you enjoy doing. But if you date someone who's not your type, you gradually learn how to like other things as well. You find fun in newer things and not get restricted towards the same old things you've been doing.
- It will make you learn something about yourself: Trying to date someone out of your type list might bring you to realise a lot of new things. It will make you do things that you've never done before and also like them. It will change your perspective towards a few things that you once didn't enjoy doing. It might also give you the ability to learn yourself in a whole new manner where you'll gradually start liking and adapting to new qualities, likes and dislikes.
It's all worth it. Try it, you might just like it.
