Pigmented underarm is one of the common problems that most people have. The embarrassment reaches its height when its summer and you can’t flaunt your sleeveless dress. Ouch! Darkening of underarms can be caused due to many reasons, such as reactions from deodorants, frequent shaving, or even tight clothing. Cucumber is known to effectively soothe and brighten up pigmented skin. Extract some juice out of a cucumber and apply it evenly on the affected area daily to notice the fading of the scars.
Similarly, you can use potatoes to lighten up your underarms. Potatoes are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. Grate a raw potato and collect its juice. Apply this to your armpits till it gets absorbed by the skin. Wash the area and follow up with moisturiser daily.
You can also try apple cider vinegar as a toner to exfoliate your underarm. It contains amino acid and lactic acid that can reduce the appearance of dark spots. Dilute a few drops of ACV with equal parts of water and dab the mixture on the dark spots to fade away the pigments.
Another popular home remedy is to use baking soda with lemon juice. You can apply this mixture on your armpit and leave it till completely dry. Wash off and moisturise. Repeat this thrice in a week to notice the difference.
Haldi or turmeric is another popular kitchen ingredient that can clear out the dark pigments of your underarms. Mix turmeric with yogurt and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash with lukewarm water to reveal brighten underarms.
