The beauty industry has been growing each season and it becomes even more tempting for all of us to buy and try newer products each time. Needless to say that most of it is luxuriously expensive and we save up quite a lot to finally own the ones we eye on. We buy them, try them, obsess over them and fill our closets with them. But that's not how it's supposed to be. Buying your makeup products and even for that matter the perfumes of your choice and keep them lying in your closet drawer is not the right way to store them. Of course, we know that these things are supposed to be kept in cool and dry place. But that's not all. We've got you some more information on how to store your products well because you've invested in them, might as well care for them all you can.
- Moisturisers: These ones are the most used products on a daily basis and so they need to be stored with extra care. First of all, you should be using this product in a year once you open it. If you notice a change in colour, smell or texture, you got to stop using it right away. You must keep your moisturisers in your makeup kit and away from the wash basin.
- Lipsticks and Mascara: If you store these products in a cool and dry place, they can survive up to 2 whole years. But you can never keep these in the car or in the bottom of your handbag as the heat only messes the product formulation. Mascaras have the shortest shelf life and so you must replace them every three to six months.
- Serums: This hair product is another widely used one and needs to be stored in your mini-skincare fridge. If you leave them out in the open or in the bathrooms, they might start getting fungal growth.
- Toners and masks: You can never leave these uncapped or loosely capped or else they'll lose their efficiency and will be of no use. Always and always store them in a nice and cool place.
You have to maintain some kind of beauty hygiene since you're going to use your makeup and hair products on a daily basis.
