All of us are sitting at home and finding ways to kill time. Some of you indulge in binge watching series and movies while others take this time to pay all the attention on their body, skin and hair health. But while you're at it for your own self, have you thought of all the plants and flowers that you might have in your house? They need some care and attention too.
So if you're someone who wishes to do that but aren't sure of where to begin with, we've got you some tips on how to keep the flowers fresh for longer and plants alive.
For starters, you can add a couple of drops of bleach to the water vase and a tsp of sugar. The bleach will kill any bacteria in the vase or on the flowers which will in turn help the flowers an extended life while it will also prevent the water from turning cloudy. Sugar is used to feed the flowers.
One really good way how you can improve the health of your houseplants, especially the ones with larger leaves is by wiping the leaves with a damp cloth regularly. This will remove all the dust from the leaves and also improve photosynthesis.
Since the heat is increasing day by day, this is the time that your plants need more water. The houseplants are in pots and completely dependent on you for food, so many sure you start feeding them the right way.
If you wish to expand your gardening skills, you can sow some seeds like beans, peas, onions and carrots as they can all be sown outside directly.
You need to prepare a seedbed well before you start with the sowing. Remove all weeds as they will end up competing with seedlings. Also remove large stones as they can inhibit root growth and are really bad for carrots, parsnips and other root vegetables.
You can use some beer traps to protect your seedlings from slug and snail damages. A small tin filled with beer will attract slugs and snails. They will end up falling in the tin and this will keep them away from the seeds.
