We're all still stuck indoors due to the ongoing pandemic and that means if we want a pampering session we have to do it ourselves. Of course, getting to go to the salon is a whole different feeling but just because we can't do that doesn't mean we can't opt for that pampering session at home. All you need are the right ingredients and in this case, we're talking about oatmeal. Not only does it taste delicious, but it can also work wonders for your skin and hair. So, if you're looking for some natural skincare and hair care remedies, let oatmeal help you out. Here's how.
Oatmeal scrub: Since oatmeal contains a nutty and grainy texture, it can make for a rather good skin scrub. Start by grinding up about one cup of oatmeal in a blender and then add 2 tbsp of crushed walnuts to the mix. Add another 3-5 tbsp of milk to the mixture and mix these well. And voila! Your scrub is ready to be used. Apply it to your skin while gently massaging it all over. Leave it on for about 10 more minutes and then rinse it off.
Oatmeal hair mask: For an amazing oatmeal hair mask, you'll need 1 cup of crushed oatmeal and 3-5 tbsp of coconut oil. Mix these two ingredients together to make a thick and consistent paste. Heat it in your microwave for about 15-20 seconds and then mix it again. Let it cool down and then apply it all over your hair and scalp. Let it sit in your hair for a good hour's time and then rinse it off.
Oatmeal face mask: To make a face mask you'll need 1/2 cup of oatmeal, 1 tbsp. of honey, 1 cup boiling water and half a banana. Begin by mixing the oatmeal with the water and then add the other ingredients. Once done, let the mixture cool down enough for you to be able to apply it to your face. Leave it on for at least 30-45 minutes and then rinse it off.
Well, now that you know just how amazing oatmeal can be for your skin and hair, we say you start using it right away and let it work its magic! Try these remedies out and stay tuned for more updates.
