Many diets include foods like celery that are considered "negative-calorie". That means you can consume these foods in order to lose weight.

However, your body requires nutrients like carbs, fats and proteins in order for it to function well. It also needs these nutrients as energy sources so your body can digest and process the foods you consume.
Some researchers say negative-calorie foods require more energy to digest and process foods we consume and generally have high water content. Even though these foods are nutritious, experts say they should not be considered "negative-calorie" as they do contain some amount of calories.
While more research is needed to determine whether "negative calorie" food have any benefits, experts say a well-balanced diet is the best way to lose weight in a healthy way.
"I wish though, that we weren't so obsessed with weight loss and diets, per se. I wish the focus was on adopting a healthy lifestyle, like eating a more plant-based diet, getting regular exercise, getting enough sleep and managing stress, all of which help us live a better quality of life,"nutritionist Samantha Heller told a news portal.
