The coronavirus pandemic has stirred up a storm all through the world and unfortunately, it isn't showing any signs of slowing down. And while you may have stocked up on basic necessary items like food and healthcare items, chances are that you're already running out of things like skincare products. And it isn't exactly safe to just waltz into stores simply to get these skincare products. So, what should you do then? Make your own skincare products, of course! Here are some skincare products you should try to make at home. Take a look.
Lip Scrub - Want to get rid of all that dead skin on your lips? Try out a DIY lip scrub. You'll need 1 tbsp. of granulated sugar (brown sugar is preferable), 1 tbsp shea butter, 1 tbsp of honey/ olive oil, 2-3 drops of essential oil. Add all of these ingredients to a bowl and mix them well. Once done, transfer them into a container for storage and use the scrub whenever required.
Moisturiser - Ran out of moisturiser? No worries, you can always make one yourself. You'll need 5-6 tbsp. of shea butter, 3 tbsp. of coconut oil and 2 drops of essential oil (pick one based on your skin type). Boil the shea butter to melt it and make it lump-free. Let it cool down for a while and then add the remaining ingredients to it. Mix well and store the mixture in a large container. And voila! Your moisturiser is now ready to use.
Soap bar - We bet you didn't know you could make soap bars at home too! Well, you'll need a melt-and-pour soap base, essential oils, food colour and some dried up rose petals. Take a cute mould or a plastic cup and pour your melted soap base into it. Add the remaining ingredients and give it a good stir. Once done, leave the moulds out to dry and your soap will be ready to use in no time.
Well, now that you know just how many skincare products you can make at home, we say you get right to it. The best thing about these is that they also limit side effects and they're a lot easier going on your pockets. In fact, you may never want to use store-bought ones after using these. Try them and stay tuned for more updates.
