Located in Uttarakhand, Roopkund lake remains covered in snow throughout the year. The lake is surrounded by glaciers, often referred to as ‘the mystery lake’ or ‘skeleton lake’. There was a time when about 600 odd human skeletons were discovered from the lake. This is really spooky!

In a small city of Karnataka called Channapatna, people are found seeking the blessing of the dog god. According to the tale, the dog is a symbol of good-nature and loyalty, but can also get formidable. This makes the locals offer prayers to the dogs.

Popularly known as the ‘floating lake’ is the only floating lake and the largest freshwater late in entire north-eastern India. This lake also houses the world’s only floating national park-the Keibul Lamjao National Park. This is a tourist favourite.
