Amitabh Bachchan starrer 'Pink', which released last weekend, has been creating waves amongst the audience, and for all right reasons! The film beautifully puts across the message regarding the importance of consent, and how 'no' means no, and not yes!
The film talks about various issues but most importantly about the power of consent, and of every woman’s right to dress the way she wants, without handing over to society the right to judge a woman's character.
However amongst beautiful lines like 'Ghadi ke Kaante yahan aurat ka character bataata hain', we might have overlooked the powerful monologue delivered by Amitabh Bachchan at the end. This moving monologue encourages women to stand up for self and assert their personality without being concerned about the judgmental standard of society. The beautiful poem is mentioned below:
Tu khud ki khoj mein nikal,
Tu kis liye hataash hai
Tu chal Tere wajood ki,
Samay ko bhi talaash haiJo Tujhse lipti bediya,
Samajh na unko tu vastra tu
Ye bediya pighaal kar,
Banaa le inko shastra Tu
Charitra jab pavitra hai,
Toh kyu hai ye dasha Teri
Yeh paapiyon ko haqq nahi,
Ke le pariksha Teri
Chunarwaa ki dhwajj banaa,
Gagan bhi kapkapaayega
Agar Teri chunar giri,
Toh ek bhookamp aayega...
Closing with this message, the film leaves the viewers with a thought provoking yet a powerful message.
