With the kind of busy routines that all of us have these days, we tend to rush into everything we do right from morning till night. One of such things include eating meals and other house chores. But while being in a hassle, we almost forget how often we do the unhealthy things which we tend to ignore quite often. You might know of the things to do before and after you eat your meals. Although, did you know that there are a few things you aren't supposed to do right after you've had your meals?
You read that right. There are a few things which are absolutely unhealthy to do right after you've eaten:
Drink cold water: We know how tempting it gets to drink a few sips of cold water right after you eat, but that actually is quite dangerous for your body. This is because drinking cold water after a meal can lead to poor digestion and can also cause the food to bind closely which ultimately makes it difficult for absorption. This can eventually lead to problems absorbing nutrients and separating waste.
Take a bath: Another thing you aren't ever supposed to do right after meals is take a bath. This can mess up with your digestion and the blood tends to flow to other parts of the body other than the stomach during a shower. This is why, you must give yourself at least 2 hours after meal to take a bath.
Drink tea: Some people have a habit of sipping on some tea after meals and that is quite a bad thing for digestion again. The protein that you get from the meals is hardened by the acid which makes it difficult to digest. Also, tea can very much interfere with the iron absorption. This is why, it is always better to avoid tea immediately before and after a meal.
Take a walk: Now, a lot of us believe that taking a walk right after a meal is a healthy thing to do as it will help with digesting the food better. But that's not true. Any form of physical activity right after a meal can promote indigestion and cause acid reflux.
Loosen the belt: This is something that many of us end up doing. Right after eating at parties or family functions, we often tend to loosen the belt of our pants. But once we do that, it can majorly give us digestion problems and it's better to keep the belt as it is.
