There is a severe problem with the saying "new year, new you". Do you know why? It's simple! While the year might be a new one, it's the same old you! And while you might think that you'll be able to follow through with that heroic resolution...you might just fail. Hence, the key to a happy new year is having an achievable resolution that won't have you stressing and is an easy one to keep. Forget the 'must have a six pack' and 'going to read 3 books a month' and instead go with these...
You could vow to digitally switch off...at least for a few days! Now that's doable, right? Forget your smartphone and the woes that come with and give yourself a digital detox every once in a while. If that's a tad bit much for you, you could go with 'no phones at the dinner table' for a start!
If that's not your style, you could vow to take up a sport. Sports are proven to help de-stress and you know how much we need that with the hectic lives we lead. You could take up an arduous sport if you have the time to follow it through or you could take a relaxing one like snooker or even table-tennis!
Want to keep fit but don't have the time for exercise in your life? We say, set a ridiculously low fitness target and smash it right out of the part! What good is that, you ask? Well, once you've overcome that, you will automatically set a more difficult one and want to achieve that one too! Sometimes it's all about tricking yourself into doing the right thing...trust us!
This is one might be a difficult one but it's so fulfilling! Smile, when someone is rude. Hear us out before brushing this one off! Getting angry is time-consuming and hence smile and move on! What's more? It will annoy them even further.
Lastly, be nice to yourself. Our lives are getting more challenging with each passing day and so giving yourself a pat on the back once a while isn't such a bad idea. This resolution is for the ones who are a tad bit too tough on themselves and for the ones that like to take a 'chill pill', this one will motivate you to be better and then compliment yourself for the same.
This new year, say you're going to do it and just go with!
