While we’re upset that the closing of the Delhi Times Fashion Week is nearing, we’re bringing you all the details! After a great first show by the FDDI, here’s one more great one that we absolutely enjoyed sitting through. Nikita Nayak went with her usual blend of subtle meets classy and showcased a collection worth drooling over. Whereas Suvigya Sharma and Kalash Parnami showcased their collection which was a neat blend of Indian and contemporary designs.
Nikita’s ramp saw a lot of Indo-contemporary clothes that featured long drapes and lots of elaborate layering. And while modern touches were given to the outfits, the silhouettes were rather traditional ranging from lehengas to elaborate anarkalis. The highlight was definitely the colours used! Vibrant colours like yellows, pinks, royal blues and oranges were used with hints of black here and there. Prints were showcased too and very traditional ones. Patchwork and elaborate artistic prints took to the ramp often. The designer, Nikita herself worked a bright orange silk saree and looked resplendent.
Suvigya Sharma and Kalash Parnami’s ramp saw contemporary-Indian infused outfits for men featuring long kurtas teamed with wide-legged pants and layered with off-beat jackets. Sharp bandhgalas featuring off-beat drapes too took to the ramp. Skirts paired with straight-fit pants, jackets with oversize lapels were also featured at the show. Suvigya and Kalash even proved that the dhoti pant isn’t a bygone for men yet. Most outfits boast of one strong colour ranging from hues such as grey, navy, brown and black to name a few.
