It took us all a while (at least most of us) to get used to Crocs, right? The bulky-looking yet ultra-light and comfy footwear gained popularity with some and received flak from others. Well, just when we’ve finally gotten over the Croc-ordeal, Balenciaga sends down models at Paris Fashion Week in platform Crocs! Yep, you heard us.
Debuting a new collaboration with Crocs, the shoes were seen worn by various models as they took to the runway. Several inches off the ground and with embellishments on the top, the shoes made for rather quirky additions to the looks Balenciaga put out at the fashion week. Paraded in several colours down the ramp, the Crocs looked bigger than the usual ones as also bulkier. While the footwear brand hasn’t been considered to be a ‘fashionable’ brand, their debut with Balenciaga on the runway at the PFW might just have changed that perception for some.
While some fashion influencers took to the media to call the new platform Crocs ‘horrifying,’ ‘disgusting,’ and ‘horrendous’, some even took to the camera to complement the two brands for their collab, praising the new style. And while we weren’t sure how to feel last year when Christopher Kane debuted his collaboration with the same brand where he showcased Crocs with animal prints and geode embellishments, this year too, we can’t seem to make up our minds!
Platform Crocs…yay or nay?
