Titled 'Alchemy', Anita Dongre presented her latest collection at the Lakme Fashion Week Absolute Grand Finale. Inspired by the theme of Lakme’s latest range of beauty products, liquid gold, Anita's finale show was indeed grand, and spoke of bespoke elegance! Playing around the theme of liquid gold, Anita's collection took inspiration from the sun-kissed sand dunes of Rajasthan.
The collection boasted of timeless yet modern silhouettes, which are a perfect choice for the modern Indian woman. The designs showcased comprised of pleated elephant pants, skirts, short jackets, dresses, gowns and lehengas. Staying true to her preference for organic weaves, the outfits were made with woven tissue, khadi, fine silk and chiffon.
With delicate embellishments of zardozi, intricate motifs and tonal embroidery, the collection dabbled in a neutral palette of kora white, pastel pink, blush-peach and liquid gold.
Complimenting the regal outfits, was the bold yet minimal makeup, with up-tied hairdos, nude eyes, and bold lips. Keeping the accessories minimal, and letting the outfits take the centre stage, the models sported kundan and pearl earrings.
Anita also gave a glimpse of her menswear line comprising of tailored sherwanis and bandhgalas in shades of cream and pastel.
