'Ittefaq' marks the 10th collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar and last evening at the press meet of the upcoming film, the duo even revealed that they have been discussing scripts for the last two years. SRK stated, "We have been discussing a lot of ideas over the past two years, but we haven’t finalized anything yet. People have always said we make similar kind of films, so next time we will do something that makes us and everyone happy".
Coming to the press meet of 'Ittefaq', while most movies concentrate greatly on promotions, team 'Ittefaq', directed by Abhay Chopra and starring Sonakshi Sinha, Sidharth Malhotra and Akshaye Khanna, have had a slightly different approach to it all. And today, we've got you a complete low-down on what happened at the press meet of 'Ittefaq' last evening.
While most movie stars choose to do crazy rounds of promotions, this team thought it sensible to instead give a detailed explanation and understanding of the film. Karan started off by saying, "Sidharth was the first character for 'Ittefaq'. And subsequently, everything fell into place". Karan also mentioned that he would like to give Sonakshi a good 31% of the credit for the film and that Akshaye too, is a fantastic actor to work with. The credible director also added, "This film is all about effective narration". And when asked about a Telugu remake on 'Ittefaq', he stated that the matter wasn't confirmed yet.
Karan Johar even brought back the topic of nepotism by being his witty self and saying, "On the platform, today, there are two non-nepotistic people, Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Malhotra and rest of us, Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, Akshay Khanna, son of late actor Vinod Khanna, Abhay Chopra and Kapil Chopra, sons of late filmmaker Ravi Chopra, are the brand ambassador of nepotism".
Also when Shah Rukh was asked if he had ever encountered an 'Ittefaq' (coincidence), the actor recalled the moment Karan Johar entered his life stating that "I met Karan by ‘Ittefaq’. Karan found me very unfashionable. I was wearing a very ill-fitted outfit when I went to meet Karan the first time. Karan corrected me and since then we became good friends". When he was done being his witty self, on a more serious note he added, "This film is not very romantic in type. There was rather no discussion about the marketing of the film and promotions as we had a focused on the content only".
On the topic of promotions, Sonakshi too took to the mike saying, "I felt great that we decided not to concentrate on promoting the film. Promoting a film is much tougher than making it". She even added, "I have not seen the old 'Ittefaq'. But I am so happy with this film because I have worn a nighty for the whole film". How comfortable, right?
And all you Sidharth fans be assured that the handsome lad is single as he stated at the event saying that, "No murders in my personal life but a lot of ladies have killed me with their looks".
The gripping trailer garnered much attention which clearly validates that the film's content and narration say volumes about it. The film is set to take to theatres on the 3rd of November and we can't wait!
