Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma had announced their upcoming project, 'Sui Dhaaga' in the most creative possible on Twitter. The duo was seen tweeting to each other, which eventually led to the official announcement being made.
While we are extremely excited to see the fresh pairing of Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma on the big screen, reports claim that Varun Dhawan was not the first choice for the part. According to reports, it was Ranbir Kapoor who was the first approached for ‘Sui Dhaaga- Made in India’.
Reports further suggest that Ranbir was very much interested in taking up this film, but backed off at the last minute, after giving high hopes to the director. As compared to Ranbir, Varun took less time to give his nod to the Anushka Sharma starrer.
While Ranbir might have not signed on the dotted line for the part, the actor is apparently all praises for the script amongst his industry friends.
Talking about the project, Varun had earlier said, "From Gandhiji to Modiji, our country’s leaders have always endorsed the mantra of Made in India. With Sui Dhaaga, I’m proud to take their message to millions of movie lovers in a manner that is entertaining and relevant."
Anushka too had said, "I always get excited with unique ideas that have human interest stories. Sui Dhaaga is a story of self-reliance that I believe will connect to the grassroots level with every Indian."
Helmed by 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' writer-director Sharat Katariya, 'Sui Dhaaga- Made in India' is scheduled to go on floors soon.
