Sunny Leone recently became the most-searched person on Google, and was also a part of the ‘100 Most Influential Women of the world' list by BBC. In an interview with BBC the actress got candid about her Bollywood journey, and about not having any issues with being judged on the basis of her past.
Talking about the rampant sexism, which is prevalent in Bollywood, Sunny said, "(In the porn industry) I was never questioned about who I was, my sexuality, my integrity as a woman. Sexism on sets? Not once. But people here (in Bollywood) have to compromise. I haven’t. But it isn’t the same here… people have to compromise on their integrity and it’s a horrible feeling.”
The actress revealed that she is still somewhere judged for her past, but she is okay with it. Sunny said, "
It’s something that I created. I know what I am getting into. I know when I am hired, people want me to show off. They want the Sunny Leone shot. But that’s the image I created, so I am okay with it."
When quizzed about the objectification in the industry, Sunny was quick to quip, "
I don’t think of objectification as a bad word. We objectify things, people, brands all the time. For me, it’s selling the brand Sunny Leone.”
Well said Sunny, well said!
