'Padmaavat' finally took to theatres and the response from the audience has been mixed but phenomenal. And while Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have got their fair share of praises, Shahid Kapoor too has received quite a lot of praise for his role played in the film. And with an interview with a leading daily, the actor opened up about how he thought that the role in 'Padmaavat' was a risky one to take on as also about how Mira, his wife has been supportive of him throughout the whole process.
He said, “I remember telling Mira that I have taken a risk but I will take on this challenge. This film has been a one-and-a-half year long journey. In fact, she supported me a lot. I remember after watching the film, Mira hugged me and said, ‘I am proud of you. The character is so understated and underplayed. It was so difficult but I loved what you did in the film and this is your best performance.’” He added, “Today everybody is reaching out, giving me love, and are being appreciative.”
In an exclusive interview with a leading entertainment and news portal, Shahid had said earlier, “Mira has been the constant support throughout. It's character in the film that needs a lot from as an actor. I was like the new entrant in the team which has already worked before. To the fact, the film had to deal with before it actually came out. There was so much written about the film before it was seen. It was a tiring journey and Mira has been a support system and like a wall for me. I couldn't have done it without her.”
These two always have the nicest things to say about each other, don't they?
