Shahid Kapoor, who is currently busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati' will complete 14 years in the industry on May 9. When asked about his journey, Shahid laughed and added, "When those [actors] who are 15 years senior to me say that they feel that they’ve ‘just started out’, how can I say anything else (laughs)?"
Looking back at his career, the 'Haider' actor added, "Whether you are 20 or 60, a lot of times you look back at your career or even your life, and you are like, ‘Oh s**t, time just flies. Where did it go? I just did this or that’. But that’s how life is. You can’t do anything. Actually, you focus so much on what lies ahead that the past seems like a blur."
When asked what is next on the plate for him after a string of heavy-duty characters, maybe a light-hearted comedy? To this Shahid laughed and added, "Yes, but sometimes, light (movies) can also turn out to be stupid. And trust me I have done enough ‘stupid (films)’ in life to know that what’s commercial can easily be non-commercial."
On being further prodded about 'Padmavati', Shahid stated, "A film-maker should talk, especially for a film like this. The first impressions of the film should always come from him. So, I’ll wait for him (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) to talk. This is the first time we are working together, so I’d be curious to know what he has to say."
When asked if he has become more of a family man after Misha's birth, the actor smiled and said, "I am the kind of person, who loves any excuse to spend time with my family and friends, and it’s always good to get that. As much as I love being on my own, I love meeting friends and spending some fun time with them. Especially, any kind of a break between promotions feels as if kisi bachche ko ice cream mil gayi ho."
