Filmmaker Yash Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan together have given some of the most memorable films to Indian cinema. The superstar has ruled the hearts of millions over the long span of his successful film career. Adding another feather to his hat, Shah Rukh has been declared the fourth recipient of the National Yash Chopra Memorial Award.
The award which celebrates and honours excellence in the field of acting, music, art etc, has earlier been presented to Lata Mangeshkar, Amitabh Bachchan, and Rekha. While every year there is a new jury, this time it comprised of Hema Malini, Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Simi Garewal, Padmini Kolhapure, Anu Ranjan and Shashi Ranjan among others.
Talking about this remarkable feat by Shah Rukh, Boney Kapoor said, “Yashji has played a very important role in furthering SRK’s career as well. The latter has worked in a maximum number of YRF films including super hits like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ and ‘Darr’. He truly deserves this award.”
