Legendary actor, Dilip Kumar, who was recently hospitalised due to dehydration in a Mumbai hospital is recovering well. The veteran actor was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in Bandra yesterday due to dehydration and urinary tract infection.
While the actor was admitted in ICU, he was later shifted to a normal room for recovery. Talking about his health, wife Saira Banu said, "He is doing much better than yesterday. But he will be in the hospital today. The doctors here are taking good care of him."
Dilip Kumar has given memorable performances in films like 'Andaz', 'Aan', 'Madhumati', 'Devdas', 'Mughal-e-Azam', 'Ganga Jamuna', 'Kranti' and 'Karma' to name a few. Dilip Kumar was last seen onscreen in the 1998 release, 'Qila'.
According to the latest reports, the senior actor has now been shifted to ICU. A source revealed, "Dilip sahab's creatinine levels are rising, which means his kidney function is being affected. We are treating him for the same and aiming at bringing down his creatinine levels down."
“His kidney functions are yet to normalize. We are closely monitoring his condition,” said Ajaykumar Pandey, vice president of Lilavati Hospital. The veteran actor is admitted in the ICU under cardiologist Dr Nitin Gokhale. “A team of physicians and nephrologists are attending to him,” Pandey said, refusing to elaborate more on the actor’s health status.
Talking about the health condition, a statement from the hospital reads, "Despite all the continuing medical assistant to D. Kumar, his health has not shown any improvement."
