Dancer , filmmaker, writer, UN women's advocate for gender equality and women's empowerment in India, mother, daughter of The Superstar, and wife of another superstar-in the-making Dhanush, Aishwarya's latest cause is to lobby the government to consider stunt choreographers in films for the National Awards.
She recently met the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Venkaiah Naidu in this connection, and from what we hear, the minister has responded favourably to her request.
Now, we need to wait and see if all those men and, even women, who jump across buildings, hang from cliffs, fight raging fires to make the hero look drenched in machismo and the heroine look invincible, will finally get their due and recognition.
Incidentally, Aishwarya has a soft corner for these brave artistes, and she is presently engaged in making a documentary 'Cinema Veeran', which showcases and celebrates the achievements of stuntmen, the unsung heroes of Tamil cinema, who endanger their limbs and lives to add action, excitement and adventure to Tamil films. Musical maestro A.R. Rahman is rendering the musical score for this documentary while the one and only Rajinikanth will lend his voice to it.
Meanwhile, the stunt choreographers and of course Aishwarya are eagerly awaiting the good news.
