Bollywood singer Papon who was recently accused of kissing a minor girl whom he was mentoring for a singing-based reality show, has currently been making the headlines for the controversy. On Sunday, his mother said that her son will come out clean from all allegations in the sexual assault case. On Saturday, the singer decided to step down as the judge from the reality show he was featuring in. Talking to a leading agency, his mother said, "This is very sad. He (Papon) cannot do such things. We are very upset now. He will come out clean. Truth always remains the truth. Maybe this has been done to defame his image. We have not even thought that something like this will happen."
The Assam police have also registered a case against the singer for the same. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) had also issued a notice to both singer Papon and the TV channel. Reportedly the incident took place during the shoot of a Holi celebration on the sets of the reality show. A lawyer from the Supreme Court, Runa Bhuyan on Friday filed a complaint against Papon, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly "inappropriately kissing a minor girl".
