Kajol is one evergreen actress who has time and again proven herself to be one of the most versatile women on the big screen, in terms of the characters she has played and the roles she has taken up. And while the actress has been away for a while, she's back again! On this, Kajol had much to say to a leading daily. "I’ve had so many of these ‘comebacks’, I’m now like the ‘comeback queen’! I am like a bad penny, I just keep coming back," Kajol quipped.
The actress has started shooting for her next, 'Eela' which is being helmed by Pradeep Sarkar and produced by husband, Ajay Devgn. The film is an adaptation of a Gujarati play 'Beta Kaagdo' and Kajol will be seen playing the role of a single parent and the story will revolve around the relationship shared by a mother and son.
Talking about the film, she said, "I liked the script honestly, liked the lines, everything. I like my character of Ela (a single mother), I identify with many of her things." Kajol will be getting her own wax statue at Madame Tussauds, Singapore soon and when asked about Ajay and their children's reactions to it, she said, "Being happy and proud is everyone’s general reaction. But I haven’t been really able to explain it to Yug (since he’s too small). I’ve just told him ‘There’s this thing of me in Singapore’. His only question was ‘That’s cool! Are we going to Singapore?"
Speaking of the film, Pradeep had said, "I was offered the script around four months ago. It took me a while to understand the Gujarati tone but eventually, I fell in love with this extremely emotional story which boasts of some really strong characters and there's a chance of people getting really close to them." "I am getting involved in the dialogue and character-building as there are a few insights that I want to incorporate to make the film more endearing. This is not like Parineeta, where everything was detailed, this is more free-flowing, a character and music driven film," the filmmaker continued.
