On 23 June 2009, Lisa Ray was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer of the white blood cells known as plasma cells, which produce antibodies. It is a rare disease. In April 2010, she announced that she was cancer-free, after a stem cell transplant. As multiple myeloma is an incurable disease, Lisa is not completely cured of the disease. But she has never let her illness change her outlook towards life. Post this; the actress has had to work on a strict diet that consists of juices, smoothies, and other vegetarian food. But she still managed to win her battle.
