Hrithik Roshan's last outing with ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was when the two collaborated on 'Guzaarish' in 2010. The film dealt with the sensitive topic of euthanasia and also starred Aishwarya Rai alongside Hrithik. And now, after almost seven years, rumour mills are abuzz with the reports of Hrithik and SLB joining hands again for a film which will be an adaptation of Amish Tripathi’s bestselling book 'The Immortals of Meluha'.
The rights of the book were first acquired by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions who planned to make a film on the same titled 'Shuddhi'. Names by the likes of Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Tiger Shroff, et al, were tossed around as speculations for the star cast of the film. However, after several attempts of resurrecting the film failed, Dharma Productions eventually shelved the film.
The rights of the film from Dharma Productions have now gone to SLB Films. And the buzz is that the filmmaker has approached Hrithik to play the lead. While there is no confirmation as such from SLB, Hrithik or Amish, it is highly likely that they are still in talks. As Amish, and the writer refrains from commenting as this is the last thing that is on his mind.
