The dhak-dhak girl of Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit Nene, certainly stole many hearts back in her time. The actress was touted as one of the most brilliant actresses in the 90's. But since her last release, 'Dedh Ishqiya' three years ago, Madhuri hasn’t been seen on the silver screen. It was only recently announced that she was supposed to star in the upcoming film 'Total Dhamaal', opposite veteran actor Anil Kapoor. According to sources, Madhuri has been regularly getting film offers, but she is turning them down for some reason or the other.
A source revealed, “Though she is being approached by filmmakers with interesting roles, the minute she hears that she has to play a mother, Madhuri turns them down. She feels that her fans want to see her paired with the Khans —Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman. A few years ago, when Anil offered her the part of Sonam’s mom in a film based on 'Freaky Friday', she had refused saying it didn’t appeal to her, and she also didn’t want to play a mother. She probably thinks that she should be getting the kind of roles younger actresses are doing.” Another actress said, "Madhuri is also struck by the Juhi, Karisma and other ’90s actresses syndrome who break into cold sweat at the thought of having to play screen moms, but she is not going to get the same roles that Alia is being offered just because their manager is the same!” Well, we wonder what's really going on here. Stay tuned for more updates.
