Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon is super excited about the succes of her film 'Bareilly Ki Barfi'. Talking about it, the actress said, "I am obviously very very happy and overwhelmed with the kind of response 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' got. I think while we were making the film and when I said yes to the film I felt that it's a very sweet film and it's got memorable characters. When you watch a film there are some characters which stay with you and you notice them as you relate to them and they are funny, different and quirky, so I think that's something I knew 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' had but none of us knew that it's going to receive so much love across all age groups in the country.
She further continued, "I think I have never received so many messages and calls in appreciation, people have stopped me at the airport and even gym's to tell me how much they have loved the character of Bitti Mishra. There were some who even told me about few scenes from the film in detail which they have absolutely loved and connected with. My own team who are not that much into Hindi cinema have gone to watch it time and again with different groups of people in theatre to watch 'Bareilly Ki Barfi'. And nowadays I don't think you go to the theatre to watch a film more than once."
"'Bareilly Ki Barfi' was meant to be a family film and I know people who have gone to watch the film with their friends and after coming back they have taken their parents along with them to watch the film. It's a film which one can watch with their friends as well as their family as you know your parents would also enjoy it. The character of Bitti has received a lot of love and it was something very very new for me because I had never played a small town girl. I had even heard from various people that they never pictured me as a small town girl so they didn't know why I was chosen to play the character of a Bareilly girl, as they were like you look too urban and you don't look like a Bareilly ki ladki and all that, so that perception has now changed thankfully," the actress continued.
"I think it’s important for a director to look at the actor in you rather than the characters that you have played. I might have played urban girl but that is not the only part of me, you can change the way I look and I'll play the character you ask me to play, so I think that has changed and it's very funny and fortunate that now am getting only small town girl roles coming my way which is also different kind of an experience because I was offered more of urban roles and now suddenly am getting offers for roles where the girl is from a small town so it's very interesting. I am liking the thing that people are now accepting me as someone who can also play different kinds of roles and I think this gives you a little bit of confidence to do something out of your comfort zone and that ends up getting so much of love that you feel like you want to try something different and out of the box that people don't expect you to do," the actress concluded.
