Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania, 'Veere Di Wedding' is probably the most anticipated film of the year. And today, that 'anticipation' ends as it has hit theatres and we couldn't be gladder about it! For the first time, audiences will see A-list female stars come together for a women-led film that's all about sass, style and one that's going to be an emotional roller-coaster ride.
Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, the film, after awe-inducing posters and a trailer to love is finally out and the Internet is filled with reviews. And as was promised, we hear that it does hint at the film not being a mere chick flick though it sure has all the elements to be one. The movie is also about friendship, about living life and most importantly about being a woman on your own terms.
Today, we've got Kareena Kapoor Khan explaining why she chose to be a part of the project and explaining how different it is from the films that were made on female friendships earlier. She said, "I think it was a completely different experience. We are used to doing typical song and dance big budget Hindi commercial movies. This is a very different kind of a film because you might have seen 'Dil Chahta Hai' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' but for the first time you are going to see real problems with women in an entertaining fashion."
Earlier, the actress had said about the film, "People have appreciated the trailer because this film’s language is very different. It’s really a progressive film." 'VDW' seems to be Bollywood’s version of 'Sex and the City' and we know that today, our evening plans include this film and a huge tub of popcorn! Do yours too?
