Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan, who has delivered hits like Mani Ratnam's 'O Kadhal Kanmani', Anjali Menon's 'Bangalore Days' and Martin Prakkat's 'Charlie' is all set to make his Bollywood debut. Son of veteran actor Mammootty, Dulquer will be seen in Ronnie Screwvala's yet-untitled production starring Irrfan Khan.
However, it is just not Dulquer who will make his debut, the film will be helmed by the debutant director Akarsh Khurana, who has co-written the script with Hussain Dalal. While the project was to earlier star Abhishek Bachchan, the actor had to opt out as his dates clashed with JP Dutta's comeback film 'Paltan'.
Talking about the film, a source close to the development said, "It's a light-hearted comedy that will see Dulquer and Irrfan as friends on a road trip. The film rolls by the month end in Kerala." While there has been no announcement regarding the female lead, reports suggest that Mithila Palkar from the popular web series, 'Girl In The City' has been tapped for the part.
Dulquer is currently gearing up for the release of Bejoy Nambiar's bilingual, 'Solo', and Soubin Shahir's 'Parava'. Irrfan is currently at the Locarno Film Festival for the world premiere of 'The Song of Scorpions'.
