According to reports, 'Inkaar' actress Chitrangda Singh is all set to make a biopic on the hockey ace and India’s former captain, Sandeep Singh. Apparently, the actress had acquired rights to the film, which is to be directed by Shaad Ali, three years ago.
And now if reports are to be believed, Punjabi actor, Diljit Dosanjh, who made his Bollywood debut with 'Udta Punjab' signed by actress Chitrangda Singh to play Sandeep Singh.
Ex-hockey captain, Sandeep Singh is currently employed with the Haryana Police as deputy superintendent. Sandeep, who played as a full-back and was a penalty corner specialist, grabbed headlines when he made a comeback to the field after a freak incident.
There has been the talk of Chitrangda turning independent film producer for some time now. While Chitrangda wanted to roll the film much earlier, it was the search for the perfect actor to play Sandeep that delayed the film. In fact, the hockey ace had once admitted to wanting Ranbir Kapoor to play him after in 'Rocket Singh'.
The project is likely to roll later this year and as per a source will be helmed by Shaad Ali.
