A report in Mumbai Mirror today left us startled. The report was an update in the suicide case of television actress Pratyusha Banerjee who rose to fame with her role in Balika Vadhu. The tabloid with the help of her parent’s lawyer, Neeraj Gupta, got the details of the last call Pratyusha made to her boyfriend Rahul Raj before she committed suicide.
The transcript revealed astounding details that concluded Pratyusha took her life for being forced into prostitution by Rahul. In the conversation, Pratusha is heard telling Rahul, “B******d man.. I f**k so hard.. In my life I f**k so hard… for everything… I had not come here to sell myself… I had come here to act… to work. And where are you putting me today.. Rahul, you have no idea how bad I am feeling right now.” She continually screamed at him, and further stated, “You are selfish… you are spoiling my name. People are talking about me… my mom and dad are being termed ghatiya.”
While Rahul kept convincing her to wait till he returns home in another half-an-hour, she said, “Rahul, it’s over. I am over. Mar gayi mein (I am dead). Everything will be over in half-an-hour.” The conversation only points out that Pratyusha was being forced into prostitution by boyfriend Rahul. More to that, her name in the industry was getting sabotaged because of that. It didn’t end her ordeal, as one during the case also came to know that Rahul had forced her to terminate her pregnancy.
