There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Southern superstar Rajinikanth's entry into politics. In fact, sources close to the actor have hinted that the actor is seriously contemplating entering politics and might may the announcement on his birthday.
Talking about the possibility of his foray into politics, Rajinikanth recently told a leading daily, "I have not denied it. We are discussing and yet to take a decision. Once I take a decision I will inform you. " The 'Kabali' actor who recently interacted with his fans, also asked them to 'prepare for war', which possibly hinted at his political stint.
Rajinikanth had further added, "When a war comes, they will come to the rescue of their motherland. I have a profession, work, duty and so do you. Go to your places, do your duty, take care of your vocation. Let us face the war when it comes."
When quizzed son-in-law Dhanush regarding Rajinikanth's political ambitions during the audio launch of 'VIP 2' he quipped, "You have seen the invite and it said no questions about politics."
On being prodded by another journalist about his take on actors joining political groups, Dhanush concluded saying, "Do you have an opinion on why he shouldn't? So I have my opinion too and I'll keep mine to myself."
Directed by Soundarya and starring Dhanush and Kajol in the lead, 'Velaiilla Pattadhari 2' is a sequel to the 2014 blockbuster and will hit theatres on July 28.
